This Sunday, 23 August 2009 “Wired on Words and Music” was dubbed a show of WORDS BY WOMEN featuring women poets, writers and performers. It welcomed from London, Ontario poet, performer and zinemaker Paula Belina, who, with Larissa Andrusyshyn (another performer on the bill) founded the long-running alt literature zine Streeteaters. Angela Hibbs performed work from her first poetry collection, Passport (DC Books, 2007), and from the manuscript of a forthcoming title. Other Montreal-based readers were Alessandra Naccarato, poet and former editor of the quarterly journal, Lips: Politics & Poetics, and poet Ilona Martonfi, organizer of The Yellow Door poetry reading series, and the annual Lovers and Others readings.
