On February 17th 2013, Words and Music welcomed the poet Ruben Dario Giraldo, and the composer Isis Giraldo - or the father-daughter duo otherwise known as the Isis Giraldo Poetry Project. Isis is a classically trained freelance musician and educator, known for her ability to make a good sandwich, and for the musical dynamism she lends to her father’s poetic universe. Although her career has mostly been Canadian-based, she is strongly influenced by the music of her native Colombia. A medley of ‘voice/music/dance’, the event was held at the Casa del Popolo at 9 PM. A poster of this night mentions collaborations with choreographe Stephanie Robert, sound artist Kathy Kennedy, and words by Klara du Plessis, Maria Bronnicova ‘and more!!!’ Tickets cost 6$.
