Notes:
The final show of 2016 opened with Alison Darcy’s performance of a story by Marianne Ackerman entitled “Mankind.” Will Eizlini’s Amanita voice and music ensemble, composed of Tamara Filyavich, James Schidlowsky, Louise Campbell, and Words & Music host and organizer Ian Ferrier, then gathered onto the Casa Del Popolo stage to perform a mix of trance and spoken word. Ferrier and Campbell then returned to the stage, turned off the lights in the room, and performed another piece together on guitar and clarinet. As announced on the recording and visible in the video footage, Marie-France Jacques and Marie-Pier Gilbert also provided contemporary dance and movement to accompany the duo’s performance. The evening concluded with two additional musical performances by Nomad (Simon Millerd, Jake Wiens and Ted Crosby) and Stefan Christoff, who also read original poems for the first time at a Words and Music Show.
