Notes:
The March 2017 Words and Music Show began with a multimedia performance piece called “Does She Come In A Box?,” described in a document entitled “Storytelling by John Arthur Sweet.docx” as ”an exploration of the space occupied by women.” The performance was brought to life on the Casa Del Popolo stage by choreographer Chloe Hart, projectionist Gabrielle Allain, spoken word artist and musician Christine Lee, and dancer Camille Trudel-Vigeant. Monologist John Arthur Sweet presented an excerpt from a larger piece he later performed at the Victoria Fringe Festival. Ted Strauss and Damaris Baker facilitated Word Race, a “competitive pronunciation” game with members of the audience. After the intermission, Ricky Leach had the audience listen to a pre-recorded song, but most of her actual live performance is missing from the recording. Romy Allaire and Alex Khoury harmonized as Petrol Taste and closed the night with a forty minute set including songs called “The Drive” and “Mary Jane.” The duo announced their final song, “Time,” but the recording cuts off before they begin to play.
