CONTENT
Notes:
The Words and Music Show’s founder and host, Ian Ferrier took the La Vitrola stage by storm, lending his skills on guitar and synth as well as his voice to a star-studded performance by Cookie Magique Orchestra, featuring the talents of several W&M Show regulars, including Sarah Albu (vocals), James Annett (viola), Dina Cindric (keyboards), Will Eizlini (multi-instrumentalist), Eric Gingras (bass), James Schidlowsky (guimbarde), and John “Triangles” Stuart (guitar). Audio recordings documenting the February 18th, 2018 show are limited to the orchestra’s set, which closed the evening, but the event poster and a document entitled “Bio and Pic for Ian 2018.docx” inform us that Vancouver “poet, activist, academic and storyteller” Sean MacGarragle, along with fellow west coast poet Cornelia Hoogland, and “poet/performer” Seeley Quest were also scheduled to appear. Two short video recordings document a portion of Marie-Pier Gilbert’s haunting performance of a contemporary dance piece by Simon Renaud.
