Notes:
The May 20th, 2018 Words and Music Show at La Vitrola began with French rap and spoken word by Hoda Adra featured on her album “La liberté des sens." Guitarist John “Triangles” Stuart performed two instrumentals, one called “Seventy Five” and an untitled piece. Shannon Webb-Campbell read “Harvest Your Heart,” “Point Mistaken,” “Other Waves Of Thought,” and “Tell Me Medicine Woman, Who Do I Belong To?” from her first book “Still No Word” (Breakwater Books Ltd 2015) and discussed her more recent work from a controversial collection called “Who Took My Sister?” (Book*hug 2018), which was quickly removed from public sale. The event concluded with singer-songwriter Clara Engel who performed original songs, including “Baba Yaga” and “Birdheaded Queen,” while accompanying herself on electric guitar.
