CONTENT

Notes:
The second set of the August 19th, 2018 Words and Music Show at Casa Del Popolo showcased poetry from John Arthur Sweet, including two pieces he describes as his “contribution to Pride [Week],” one of which is entitled “Gateshead Bed,” followed by a performance of “Dear John Doughtery,” dedicated to Rachel McCrum and which marks Sweet’s first experience performing with live musical accompaniment, provided by Ian Ferrier on guitar. Ferrier then invited Louise Campbell to join him on stage as Creatures of the Ice Age to perform a piece called “Perseids” inspired by the perseid meteor shower and reflecting on new encounters. Missing from the audio recordings are the poetry performances by Sarah Venart and Rachel McCrum announced on the event poster. The Facebook event also reveals that “a selection of books from poet Matt Santateresa's library [were] available free to any poets in attendance.” https://www.facebook.com/events/669773890082464/
