Notes:
The September 2008 edition of The Words and Music Show kicked off with a collaborative project from Toronto called Singhski, featuring poetry by Rebecca Singh and music by Chad Dembski. Author and translator Hugh Hazelton and West Island poet Leslie Pasquin followed up with two poems a piece. Before the intermission, Erica Ruth Kelly performed original songs accompanied by Rick Coluccio on guitar. In the second set, Catherine Paquette read a few poems and a short story introduced as a modern take on The Lady of Shalott. To close the event, Ivan Coyote celebrated the launch of their book The Slow Fix (Arsenal Pulp Press 2008) with powerful and funny stories about Vancouver, family, and the struggles of finding a decent haircut.
