Side A of the recording contains a recorded guest poetry reading and lecture by bill bissett in UBC English professor Warren Tallman's undergraduate course, ENGL 312: Studies in Poetry. This 50 minute lecture was recorded on November 24, 1986 in the Buchanan Buildings at UBC. In the recording an unknown speaker introduces bill bissett, who then performs a chant, reads selections from his poetry collection Seagull on Yonge Street, and tells the class the origin story of the name bissett. Side B consists of Warren Tallman reading an early audio draft of what would become his Retirement Speech, "How to Play Career and Win." The date of this recording is unknown, but was possibly recorded on November 24, 1986 as well.
