NOTES

Type:
General
Note:
This radio program is all about art and challenges that confronted Canadian local artists. It begins with ethnic community and multiculturalism and how they expected the government to help them get into the mainstream act by providing them with more funding and assisting them to be considered more professional rather than just preservers of folk music. A part of this program is also about Canadian record labels and how Canadian musicians would fail to make a name for themselves here in Canada; it's all about how American record companies and the American music market provided them with amazing opportunities to be far more successful.
Type:
General
Note:
The first two minutes of the second side is [Rene?] reading her report and at 8:45 [Erica Reader?] introduces George Bowering's reading performance called "The Great Grandchildren of Bill Bissette's Mice"
