Notes:
This tape is the first audio journal by bpNichol. It was recorded on Wednesday, Nov.7, (year unclear) in the morning at 7am and the evening, past 9pm of the same day, driving to and from a farm outside of the city back into Toronto. It begins with Nichol reading from early drafts of Book 5 of the Martyrology and concludes with a more diaristic entry before the recorder becomes too muffled to discern Nichol's words. 0:00 - Nichol speaking directly into the tape recorder about the street names and Martyrology 1:31 - Short song 1:58 - Poem about street names and naming generally 3:18 - Early preamble to the Martyrology Book 5 3:56 - Body of the Martyrology Book 5 5:08 - Early draft of a chain in Martyrology Book 5 6:47 - Self note about order of the tape 8:06 - Reflections on self-recording 9:30 - Reflection on acquisition of papers and future audience 10:18 - Timestamp, driving back into Toronto 10:47 - Reflection on visual image and connection to own writing 14:08 - Audio recording as way around physical impediments 15:17 - Audio becomes muffled 15:59 - Nichol becomes audible again 17:05 - Audio becomes muffled again 18:55 - Nichol reading (very muffled)
