Mike Di Sclafani, described in “Literary Bio.docx” as ”a multidisciplinary artist whose main practices are poetry, photo, video and music,” read a piece called “(art)re” accompanied by a pre-recorded track he composed. Josh Quirion made his third appearance on the W&M Show stage to read “The F Word” and “Ferda.” Anomaly read a series of short poems from her chapbooks, including “Nostalgia,” “Space,” and “December 31st.” In the final act of the evening, Bryan Highbloom and Jean-Patrice Rémillard presented what “Rémillard and Highbloom.docx” terms a “new jazz/minimal tech meeting of the minds, merg[ing] the increasingly distinct and experimental sides of deep, dubby textural techo with tenor sax” in an hour-long jam session."],"contents":["STE-002 W&M Oct 2018 Pitt-diSclafani-Quirion-Anomaly Highbloom & JP-jam.wav\n\nUnknown\n00:00:00\nSilence.\n\nBrandon Pitts\n00:03:10\nIntroduces \"Eloi Eloi Lama Sabachthani\" [recording begins abruptly]. \n\nBrandon Pitts\n00:03:30\nPerforms \"Eloi Eloi Lama Sabachthani\". \n\nAudience\n00:07:27\nApplause.\n\nIan Ferrier\n00:07:41\nThanks Brandon Pitts.\n\nIan Ferrier\n00:07:43\nIntroduces Mike Di Sclafani. | Keywords: Yellow Door; The second half of the evening was devoted to members of SpokenWeb, beginning with poetry by Klara du Plessis who read new pieces entitled “Matinee,” “Trouble: Seurat, The Models, 1888,” “Secular Mouth, Authoritarian Lap,” “The Mountain, A Glass, Me, An Idea,” and “Essay Dwellers” in English and Afrikaans. Katherine McLeod performed a flamenco dance piece to the remixed sounds of archival literary audio recordings. Jason Camlot then closed the evening with a discussion of SpokenWeb’s research interests and a series of original songs, accompanying himself on electric guitar.
