Roy and Tallman begin the tape by discussing how Miki's thesis on William Carlos Williams transformed into a published work. In the process, they delve into Paul Mariani's exploration of Williams' life and times, providing readers with a profound insight into the poet's mind and language. Roy Miki also shared a story about his thesis.
Tallman also discusses the poets whose works influenced him, elaborating on the geographical backgrounds of these poets.

This tape is a duplicate of tapes 42 (SWALLOW ID 8609), 252 (SWALLOW ID 9014), and 253 (SWALLOW ID 9015). However, these tapes are not exact duplicates of one another, as each contains slightly more or less of Tape 1, Side 1 and Tape 1, Side 2. Portions of both sides can be heard across all four tapes.
